Biography

Todd DeLong received his B.S. in Physics and Computer Science from Marietta College in 1987, and then a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1994.

His work experience includes a position as Operations Research Analyst for the Marathon Oil Company from 1987-1990. Major responsibilities included designing software systems for all aspects of oil refining and production. Currently he is a Senior Scientist for the EE Dept. at UVa from 1993 to present. Major responsibilities include the design of computer hardware and software to support research in the area of fault tolerant and safety critical computer system design.

Current Research

Currently involved in two research projects. The first involves the development of a safety-critical embedded control system for the railway industry. The research is sponsored by Union Switch & Signal, Inc. of Pittsburgh, PA. The second involves the development of a VHDL-based fault simulator. The research is sponsored by Rome Laboratory of Rome, NY.
