Welcome to the Center for Semicustom Integrated Systems (CSIS), a Technology Development Center established by the Virginia Center for Innovative Technology. The Center for Semicustom Integrated Systems has become an internationally respected research group in the areas of computer engineering and digital systems since it was first envisioned by the University of Virginia's Electrical Engineering faculty in 1984.

On this site you will find a wealth of information about the faces and the facilities behind the research conducted at CSIS. Those interested in the research conducted by CSIS will find an extensive online library of electronic documents. Papers written by our staff and students are available for your use, as well as other information on our research facilities, including an online tour.

Prospective CSIS students will find background information on the faculty and staff here, as well as their future classmates. Those interested in graduate study at the CSIS will also want to learn about the Mentor Graphics Higher Education Program, which the CSIS participates in. The software packages that CSIS students use as a part of this program give our graduates an edge over many institutions. In addition to information on the CSIS itself, online tours and other information on the University of Virginia and surrounding Charlottesville are readily available.

We hope you enjoy your internet visit to the CSIS, and that you come and see us in person soon!
