Biography

Barry Johnson received the B.S., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1979, 1980, and 1983, respectively. Dr. Johnson joined the faculty in 1984 after two years of industrial experience in the design of fault- tolerant systems. He is the author of a textbook entitled The Design and Analysis of Fault-tolerant Digital Systems published by Addison-Wesley Publishing Company in 1989. Dr. Johnson is a fellow of the IEEE and also Director of the Virginia Institute of Microelectronics.

Current Research

Fault tolerant systems, VLSI testing, VLSI systems design, safety-critical systems, fault simulation, dependability and modeling analysis.
