Text-Only CSIS Pages
Education at the Center for Semicustom Integrated Systems
This section brings together links within the CSIS web pages corresponding to education.
Education at the CSIS is of utmost importance, and graduate students are essential to the
future success of the CSIS. Each year, the CSIS awards approximately 12 Masters degrees
and 5 Ph.D. degrees. In addition, the CSIS faculty, staff, and students produce 10 journal
papers and 25 conference papers each year. CSIS research and graduate studies focus on three
technology areas: fault tolerance technology,
test technology, and
integrated circuit technology. When you begin your education at the
University of Virginia and the CSIS, you will have
access to the research interests and wide variety of supporting
courses from the diverse EE and CSIS faculty.
Many CSIS courses utilize Mentor Graphics software, since the CSIS is a participant in the Mentor Graphics Higher Education Program.
Other pertinent information you may desire before
requesting an application includes financial assistance,
which is supported by working as a graduate teaching or research assistant, or information
on transfer credits. If you are
looking for more information on the current research going on in the two laboratories
of the CSIS, there are slide shows for both
the Systems Integration Laboratory
and the Integrated Circuit Laboratory.
More general information on the learning environment at The University can be obtained from
the Life at U.Va. slide show or from
other virtual tours and online information
from other departments of the University.
